Stamping & Punching

I love to find old kitchenware in thrift stores, flea markets, my parents and parents-in-law's homes and at car boot/yard sales.

Given a really good scrub and a run through the dish washer you can end up with a gorgeous collection that even Jamie Oliver's production designer would be chuffed with- and usually for a fraction of the price.

To give the collection a personal touch and define it's purpose i've taken to adding hand punched metal tags to the jars.

I bought all my supplies from Amazon:

Professional 36pc Letter & Number Stamp Punch Set 1/8" 3mm Hardened Steel - Metal, Wood, Leather- $13.59
Artistic Wire 20-Gauge Gun Metal Wire, 15-Yards- $8.82
Vintaj Natural Brass Rustic Altered Blank Square Pendants 20mm (4) 39072- $2.49 for four
Vintaj Natural Brass Rustic Altered Blank Circle Pendants 25mm (4) 39073- $2.55 for four
Vintaj Natural Brass Altered Blank Stamping Tag Pendants 41x8.5mm (2) 39075- $2 for two

I still have a lot of the wire left over so i'll be ordering more pendants, each punched tag will get comparatively cheaper as the initial cost of the punches is spread across the life of their use- which I assume will be for a while!

It also says they can be used to punch leather and I fancy the idea of some personalised leather journals and note books, so that may be the next project!
