Back in January of this year I was very lucky to meet the founder of Cleverhood, Susan Mocarski, and her brilliant team.
This the resulting article I wrote for Rhode Island Monthly's Eye For Design blog:
Designed to bring us closer to the environment in which we live, the Cleverhood is a garment that, as well as keeping out the effects of one, is creating a bit of a storm.
A cape is not a new feature to the protective outerwear arsenal. We are all familiar with the plastic mac and other serviceable raincoats. Yet the restrained, elegant and simple lines of the exquisitely draped Cleverhood elevate it to a higher level of practical fashion.
The brainchild of Susan Mocarski, a champion of liveable cities and urban spaces, the 'hood was a result of a soggy return to the United States after a Danish vacation and the conviction that there must be a solution better than a damp backpack and cold, shopping bag-laden hands.
